The past few weekends have been fun bouncing back and forth between steelhead streams and the desert. Ran 30 miles of incredible scenery during the Dead Horse Ultra yesterday.

Glorious fall camping and the first steelhead trip for Rufus. Like most that come from trout fishing, the lack of action bored the hell out of him. Luckily he found some nice sticks to chew, a few rabbits to chase, and as many treats as he wanted. #

October is one of my favorite months to fish, so it’s been weird not fishing at all. Work travel and life have put a real kink in the plans, but what a month it has been. Perhaps the best fall leaves I’ve seen across the west.
I was supposed to be watching sunrise on the deschutes this morning instead of the Empire State Building, but it is what it is. A beautiful morning regardless.
